Retaining Walls in Dublin, OH » Personable Patio Renovation

2014

$15,000 Budget

This patio renovation started by taking up and relaying the existing patio, then expanding the current footprint an additional 182 square feet. This allowed room for a new walkway and 4 ½ foot fire feature to be created. The remodeled patio now sits at 641 square feet and includes a built-in fire pit and seating wall for entertainment. We used tumbled Washington pavers from Oberfields laid out in a Muster D pattern, tumbled pavers have gone through a drum and generally have softer edges than non-tumbled pavers. The larger old pavers were reused to create a solider course around the patio. We incorporated various sizes of pavers throughout the design to create a running bond, this helped create interest within the patio while using the same material.

The fire pit was created with stacked Edington wedge pavers and left bare. Bedford limestone caps with rock faced edges were used to finish off the newly constructed seating wall and steps.  This backyard now has enough living space to enjoy and nice summer night by the fire.
