Paver Patios in Pickerington, Ohio » Traditional Elegance

2015

$45,000 Budget

The initial intention at this residence was to create a more appealing back yard outdoor living space for friends and family beginning with removal of the old concrete patio that originally came with the house. Next, we installed a 472 square foot paver patio, 12 x 12 cedar pergola, gas firepit and landscaping around all sides of the home.

The patio was laid out in a soldier course using coffee creek Brussels Block with a dark charcoal Il Campo banding that provides a rustic texture to the space. It was designed to provide space for a 6-person dining set under the custom-built cedar pergola placed just outside the homes main kitchen providing an easy transition between the two areas while entertaining. Additional space was given for the homeowners’ grill to rest between the two spaces.

The paver patio now connects the two access doors off the back of the house and the wrap around walkway leads guests directly from the driveway to the backyard. A gas fire pit provides an additional area for seating and lounging. Drainage issues we remedied by replacing insufficient underground tile with sturdy PVC plus correcting negative drainage through new planting bed preparation.

This project was completed with new landscaping on all sides of the house. Flower beds were carved out around the new patio where boxwoods, spirea, barberry, junipers, and lavender were strategically placed to add color and privacy. In front yard, we added curb appeal by completely redesigning the flower beds and adding numerous kinds of vegetation including roses and catmint. The focal point will be limelight hydrangea  tree that will grow to be approximately 25 feet tall and bloom every summer with beautiful white flowers.
