Paver Patios in Galena, Ohio » Campfire Memories

2017

$95,000 Budget

All the elements come together in this backyard project creating the perfect space to gather as a family. This 750 square foot patio offers plenty of room for large gatherings but is intimate enough for father-son bonding. Walnut beacon hill pavers span the entire area, incorporating darker basalt pavers to create defined spaces within the patio. The built-in gas fire feature and accompanying seating walls were constructed using estate wall pavers. For a more formal look we enclosed the seating walls on either side with columns that match the height of the fireplace.

The 12 x 12 circle sawn oak beam covered structure with metal roofing provides full protection from the elements and is a great addition the space.  The structure was crafted from recycled barn wood and was built by Mid-Ohio Reclaiming.

To finish this project, we added down spouts on the home to address the current drainage issues, built up flower beds around the perimeter, and installed lighting in the beds and around the patio area.

Tall green mountain boxwoods tower around the fire pit area to create privacy from neighboring homes, and short boxwoods were planted close to the home to add color and soften the space. We also used variegated lilyturf and a variety of other plants to fill in the beds.
