Think Spring Bulbs in the Fall!

Posted on: November 7, 2018

The first signs of spring in the landscape are often the golden hues of the Daffodils, or the vibrant colors of Tulips, Hyacinths and Crocuses; but these smiles of spring take some planning in the fall. Spring-flowering bulbs such as tulips and daffodils must be planted in the fall or early winter to bloom in spring because they require a long period of cool temperatures to spark the biochemical process that causes them to flower.

At Landscapes by Terra, we select from many varieties of bulbs to create a continuous bloom through the spring; we can even create a rolling bloom that moves around the landscape to balance and complement other spring blooming plants in the Landscape.

The planting window for spring bulbs is small, so start planning those spring smiles soon with one of our design experts because it's important to get them into the ground before it freezes.
